I flew to Singapore for the Mnet Asian Music Awards 2011 at the SG Indoor Stadium to support and watch Kim Hyun Joong and of course, all the other artists. A few days before, Aziatix announced that they will be attending the red carpet and I was so excited about it. I told Mr. Jae Chong that I will be holding a banner of Aziatix Philippines and he said in his facebook that he will be expecting about it. Then, the awards night came and it was a surprise to Aziatix and also us Aziaddicts that they were given an award as the Best New Asian Artist Group. They deserve that award and it was about time to get recognized.

The next day, we went to Marina Bay Sands to give our gifts as promised to them. We saw Eddie first as he was tall as they were checking out at the reception area. We rushed to them and I first approached Eddie and gave him the banner I was holding at the red carpet. He was touched to know that we were from the Philippines. I asked him to sign the Aziatix CDs of my friends, Lyn and Gold. Funny thing was that Lyn’s CD was still not open and had the plastic on, so I was panicking to take it off and Eddie kind of offered that he open it and I don’t remember who opened it and he was signing it and gave it to Flowsik. We gave our gifts to them and I also gave Jae, a Sparkling magazine, which Aziatix had a small feature in it. Eddie liked that our gifts had dried mangoes. We had our pictures taken with them. BTW, Nicky was not there because he took an early flight back to Taipei. They said they were on their way to the airport, so we said our goodbyes to them and took the taxi to the airport.
We waited for them at the airport and when they arrived, Eddie told us that the dried mangoes were finished, he ate it. They asked us to wait because they would first check in. After that, they talked to us together with four SG fans. Eddie kept asking if we really flew to SG just to watch them. He really was so touched. He even asked me when I was going back to the Philippines. I asked Flowsik if we could see the MAMA trophy. He asked his Hyung who was holding it to take it out and that we wanted to see it. He thought I wanted to hold it, but I said I wanted them to hold it. We took a picture of them holding it and we also took a group with them. Again, took some solo pictures with them and the last picture was asking Eddie to have a heart sign, which he asked what was the meaning of that. He apparently grew up in America and does not know about it. Then, they bid their goodbyes to us as they were going into the immigration. They hugged us and they went in. That was it, they were going back to Korea.
All I can say is that, Aziatix and Jae Chong, are very cool people. They are nice to their fans and even answer at their facebook pages. Thank you Eddie, Flowsik, Nicky, and Jae. I wish them more success this year and I can’t wait to see them perform LIVE and hopefully visit the Philippines soon. Gyea, Aziatix all day!!!
