I’m on TwitterMy Tweets
I was supposed to fly to S.Korea last November 2011 but everything changed. Good thing my plane ticket was just a piso fare from the December 2010 promo. Due to circumstances, I can’t fly to SK for the last Sunday of November since it was my sister’s last Sunday of taking the Bar Exam. My stalking buddy, Jel, didn’t push through too because TVXQ was having an event in Singapore by first weekend of December, so she chose to have a trip there. My friends, Lauren and Weng, who were supposed to be on the trip to SK with me too wasn’t planning to push through. Most importantly, Kim Hyun Joong was nominated and confirmed to attend the Mnet Asian Music Awards 2011 in Singapore, so why not fly to Singapore instead of SK and I had a great time during my first MAMA 2010 experience in Macau the year before that.
Mnet had a shuffle dance contest in which the winners would fly free to SG, watch MAMA live and will have the chance to dance with the stars on stage. My friends and I were watching the videos sent by the fans and apparently, most shuffle dances were for other artists.
A week before the MAMA, my friends and I decided to submit this dance video rooting for Kim Hyun Joong and of course SS501 in the name of our fanclub, Triple S Philippines. We were happy and proud that he was nominated in 4 categories, including Artist of the Year. The shuffle dance was made to show our support to our forever Leader and to show our appreciation to MAMA and for KPOP music.
I knew that the stars would be taking Singapore Airlines since it was a sponsor, so I waited for someone to leak HJ’s flight details. He surely would fly Monday, November 28, but there were lots of flight from SK. I was planning on taking SQ too from the Philippines. So Saturday came, his flight details were released. His flight and my flight were of one hour difference. I tried to book a flight but then it was fully booked, so I booked on a different airline so that I would arrive SG ahead of him and the other stars.
DAY 1: November 28
Arriving SG, there were lots of fans waiting at the airport. At Terminal 1, where I was at were SNSD fans, so I did wonder where were KHJ fans were. Minutes before the plane arrived, SNSD fans ran towards the VIP Bldg as they saw bodyguards going that way. I too went there but then rain started to pour and I didn’t have an umbrella, so I decided to go back inside the terminal. Then, SQ’s flight flashed that it will arrive at Terminal 3, so I took the train going there and arrived there with HJ’s fans and saw my stalking buddy, Jel, who flew to SG before me with her mom.
Then, staff of different artist/s kept going out with no artist/s, so the artist/s were going to the VIP complex and we wouldn’t be seeing them. We waited for HJ’s staff/dancers to come out. We followed them. They went to McDonalds and my friend and I decided to eat there too. We sat beside the female dancers of HJ and saw that they will be staying at Ritz Carlton Hotel, a walking distance to Marina Bay Sands, which the artist/s will be staying.
I was tired from my early flight from the Philippines, so went to the hostel where we were staying. Rested and freshened up, ate dinner, and went to tour Marina Bay Sands and surroundings, and tried slot machines at the casino. That was all for day one. We didn’t try to stalk because we were with my friend’s mom. 🙂
DAY 2: November 29 ~ MAMA 2011
We woke up late. Went to SG Indoor Stadium at around noon. Apparently, we couldn’t get into the red carpet proper area because it was full of fans already. We roamed around, got a lot of freebees. From BEATS ~ iPhone case and T-shirt. From MAMA, notepads and lightstick. From KHJ/Perfect fan support, HJ balloons. Tous Les Jours bakery was a sponsor with Korean artist/s as models gave brownies as freebees, so I loaded my ecobag with brownies. 🙂
We ate first our late lunch. We waited at the parking lot for the artist/s to arrive and saw some. We started fangirling YG’s Jinu from JinuSean. Then at 4PM, the red carpet started. Mercedes Benz was a sponsor so the artist/s would be arriving with that in the red carpet. We positioned ourselves near the entrance of the red carpet proper where the cars would pass by. We were lucky enough with our position, cars with artist/s would open the window and wave at us as the car would slowly pass by. Then at 6PM, I haven’t seen HJ pass by and the awards night was about to start. Fans started to line up at the entrance and when I arrived inside, the opening act was already starting.
I wouldn’t go into details about the awards night. I was surprised that the other artist that I was excited to see, Aziatix, won an award as Best New Asian Artist Group. Here is my fan account of meeting them.
Here is a video of HJ accepting his award for Best Male Solo Artist and his performance.
After the awards night, we went to eat dinner and planned to go to MBS for the after party. But then, I saw a tweet that HJ only stayed at the after party for a few minutes, so we just stayed at the hostel and got ready for the next day.
DAY 3: November 30
We were at MBS at about 10AM waiting for Aziatix because we had gifts for them when Mr. Jeong, HJ’s famous and handsome bodyguard passed by us. Here is my fan account of that meeting. Finally had a picture with him. 🙂
After MBS, we then went to Changi Airport to send off the artist/s that afternoon. Stars started arriving with their staff.
Here is a picture of HJ’s dancers Artmatic, female dancers, Cordy Noona, and Manager Seo checking in. I gave a letter to Cordy Noona, thanking her for taking care of HJ and also gave my letter to HJ because I forgot to give it to Mr. Jeong at the hotel. 🙂
Then, the last artist to arrive in a van was finally HJ. He stayed inside the van playing with his iPad, with Mr. Jeong taking care of everything. He was the only artist not to go to the checking in area. SQ airline staff went to the van to check on him.
Some shots of Mr. Jeong. Again, fangirling on him! 🙂 He looked like a model here. Making some calls, thinking of a way where HJ would pass by. As always, taking care of HJ. I think, he remembered me from the hotel earlier here.
Kaja! Everything was ready. An SQ staff, immigration official, and some airport guards fetch HJ at the van. The walking statue started walking, the one I was waiting for. He walked to a different gate especially opened for him. VIP! 🙂
Here is a screencap of HJ reading my banner. I’m happy that he knew there was a TS from the Philippines who watched MAMA. I apparently was showing this to him when he was inside the van.
My other banner to HJ and I had this printed in an 4R size and gave it to Mr. Jeong. This was also the message of my banner that Mr. Jeong took at the NAIA airport when HJ left for SK after his August visit in Manila.
